Collection: Gemstone dread jewellery

This category offers a wide selection of dread beads made from minerals. The range includes more than 50 different types of stone and covers a broad spectrum of natural colours, textures and surfaces. The beads come in various shapes – from spheres and cuboids to cubes and tubes – and are often facet-cut, creating crisp edges and varied reflections of light.

Hole diameters can be chosen from 4 to 8 mm, so different dread thicknesses can be catered for. Every bead is carefully finished and drilled to size to sit securely in the hair. Natural variations in shade, grain and texture are inherent to the stone and make every piece one of a kind.

Gemstone dread beads from more than 50 types of stone

We select our gemstone and mineral dread beads in person at international mineral fairs – paying attention to colour, pattern and quality of workmanship. That's why you'll find more than 50 types of stone here, from amethyst, aquamarine and amazonite to agate, jasper and serpentine, lapis lazuli and rock crystal.

Shapes and hole sizes

The beads come in various shapes: sphere, cuboid, cube, tube, cylinder, disc or slice, some of them facet-cut. For many designs you choose the hole diameter yourself. Our size guide explains how to find the right size for your dreads.

Every stone is unique

Natural stones differ in shade, grain and inclusions. Your beads may therefore differ slightly from the photos – which is exactly what makes every piece one of a kind. You can read more about the materials we use in our material guide.
